Chalkboards UK Invest in New CNC Machine
Chalkboards UK have once more demonstrated their commitment to improving services to their customers with a £30,000 investment in a new CNC machine.
The new CNC cutter has already clocked up over 2500 hours of work as it’s got its rather sharp teeth into a whole range of existing and new shapes.
For those of you who don’t know, CNC stands for Computer Numerically Controlled - and what that means is that our chief technical machinist – Fred Inchley - locks himself away with a computer for a few hours and comes up with a repeating design that when plugged into the machine is endlessly cut from sheets of MDF.

The combination of a clever Fred and a clever machine mean that we can take a customer’s idea for a new board and then cut that shape effectively and repeatedly. We then paint and print the shaped board so that we end up with a cheaply produced and beautifully finished chalkboard.The Pint shaped chalkboards was one of the first jobs to go through.
We also did a drinks paddle for one of the breweries – we thought this would look good with a red handle and commemorative print of a test match! Anyone for cricket?
